It works just as described, so far so good. It has easy to adjust settings. The only caution I would suggest is putting a towel underneath it, if it's on carpet , as I'm not sure how carpet fibers would be effected by having continual heat on them. So we have a layer of towel, then this pad, and on top of it, we have his dog bed as he's used to his dog bed. Some dogs tend to dig at their bedding to get comfy, and I'm not sure this would hold up to that kind of treatment, so we put the pad under the dog bed and he can fluff up his dog bed to his heart's content.
